Energize – Sunday mornings

Most Sundays everyone will spend the first 15 minutes together in the main church building as we enjoy being a family together. This part of the service will involve some singing and prayers and often there will be a birthday or two to celebrate. Then the children and young people will leave for their age appropriate activities. For the children this means going across to the Centre for Energize.

There is a creche for those who are about 3 or under. You are free to leave your children in the creche or stay with them – whatever works best for you. We recognise that all children are different and therefore we are generally very flexible in what we are able to provide. Our creche isn’t just a babysitting service – depending on their age, children will engage with a very simple story and activity to help them think about a key theme of that week’s topic.

The first part of Energize is often spent doing activities all together and then we will split up into different groups to explore our theme in different ways. Our sessions are very hands-on and interactive, helping the children to explore the theme for themselves as we learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

Our children’s and families worker is Su.

Su oversees Energize, and is helped each week by a great team of volunteers.

All relevant DBS checks have been carried out and we regularly review and update our Safeguarding Policy.

Bumps and Babes – Wednesdays at 2pm

Bumps and Babes is a group for pre-schoolers (including babies) and their adults – mums, dads, grandparents, carers, etc. There are plenty of toys to entertain your little one and you’re guaranteed a warm welcome.

Bumps and Babes takes place in the church Centre at 2pm on Wednesdays during school term time.

Our volunteers will be around to chat or keep an eye on your child whilst you grab a piece of home made cake and a cup of tea. Meet others – some will be experienced parents, some will be brand new parents, some will be there with their grandchildren – so there will be plenty of chance for some grown-up conversation as your children enjoy playing.

There will often be a craft which are not just a lot of fun but will help your young one develop various skills.

In the warmer months we make good use of our outdoor space.

We round everything up by singing some songs all together.

There is no need to register for Bumps and Babes – just turn up. And it’s all free.

Other events for children

We also run several other special and one off events for children throughout the course of the year. Last year these included special events around Christmas and Easter, a week long Holiday Club in the summer holidays, and a Light Party.
